Air Seychelles has announced a series of charter flights it will be operating over the coming months, announcing today it will be operating ad hoc charter services to Mauritius, following the partial reopening of the island nation to international travellers on 15, July.
The airline says it is monitoring the market situation in Mauritius up to its full reopening by October 1, when it will announce the resumption of its twice weekly services to the Indian Ocean paradise. At the moment, Air Seychelles will serve the destination based on demand only.
In addition, Air Seychelles remains committed to serving the vital tourism link between Tel Aviv and Seychelles even after Seychelles being added to the list of high-risk countries requiring quarantine upon arrival in Israel, effective 16 July 2021, as announced by the Israel health authorities.
All Israeli-based airlines have ceased flying to Seychelles while the carrier has consolidated to Israel to once per week through the month of August. However, for September, frequency will be increased to three per week with additional charters being operated to meet the Israeli peak holiday period.
This August, Air Seychelles will mark another historic milestone by operating for the first time into Kazakhstan’s largest metropolis and most popular cultural hub, Almaty.
For this new market to Seychelles, the initial phase is to introduce the national flag carrier and destination Seychelles to the people of Kazakhstan, while a more long-term series of flights will commence in October for the winter months.
The first flight set to depart Almaty International Airport on 2 August proceeding over 9 hours is expected to land at the Seychelles International Airport by mid-morning on 3 August, 2021.
These series of new charter flights, are to be operated by the airline’s A320neo jetliner of 168 seats, and is expected to bring over 500 visitors to the Seychelles, each spending 10 nights on a combination of the main island, Mahe, along with Praslin and La Digue, taking part in various fun, authentic and safe activities.
