South African Airways’ international expansion drive has received a boost as the airline has taken delivery of an additional Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
The arrival of the aircraft marks the second delivery in accordance with the airline’s planned fleet schedule, as part of its network expansion plan.
South African Airways has been gradually increasing capacity and expanding both domestic, regional, and international operations since it resumed scheduled operations two years ago following grounding due to financial constraints.
In August, South African Airways expanded its reach into North America with the appointment of Discover the World (DTW) as its General Sales Agent (GSA) for the region. In the same August, the airline expanded in Europe with a new codeshare deal with Lufthansa.
South African Airways currently flies to several domestic and regional destinations, including Cape Town, Durban, Lagos, Accra, Harare, Victoria Falls, Windhoek, Mauritius, and Blantyre. It will resume flying to Sao Paulo, Brazil from Cape Town on 31Â October and from Johannesburg on 6Â November 2023.Â
