South Africa’s products and services in the tourism and hospitality sector will be showcased during next week’s 2017 Tourism Indaba, says Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo.
Tourism Indaba 2017, which will be be held from Tuesday to Thursday, will also promote and support the ongoing transformation and development of the South African tourism industry, notably the role which entrepreneurs and small business owners play, Dlodlo said in Cape Town.
President Jacob Zuma will open the 2017 Tourism Indaba at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.
More than 10 million international tourists visited South Africa in 2016, an increase of 13 per cent from 2015. This rate of growth was well over the global average rate of three per cent for the period.
